What if: You are loved more than you can understand
God told Moses “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God”
Jealous tends to have a negative connotation (family of the fear/hate based emotions).
I don’t believe God operates in any of the fear based emotions.
He continually warns us to Fear not!
What if this is a gift?
What if it is a loving warning to not lose his favor?
What if You are Loved / desired / wanted so much that God is jealous for you?
Using Empathy, imagine the following: You have adult aged children. You sacrificed things for yourself your whole life to provide for them and make sure they feel loved and provided for. Then on top of that, you give them a gift greater than any gift you’ve ever given anyone, and greater than anyone has ever given you, and even greater than any gift you’ve ever heard of.
Now imagine, they take full advantage of the gift, but give credit and thanks to someone else.
John 3:16

Not only did Our Heavenly Father gift us everything on Earth,
He also gave us the greatest gift ever given as stated above in JOHN 3:16
