Take Power in your Feelings: "I'm Finally Me"
Available in Spanish Link here:
“You Hurt My FEELINGS!””
You probably have heard it.
You may have said it.

Most of my life, I never gave it any in depth thought.
It is a common phrase that people say all the time.
Wisdom through life’s lessons and a better comprehension of the Bible
has taught me that this is a weak position that we should never put ourselves in.
This makes you a Victim and you are giving Power and Control of your feelings to someone that has just hurt you.
Don’t do this anymore!
**Why does this happen?**
It usually comes from one of two places — sometimes both at once:
**1. Competition** Someone tries to gain power or an advantage over you.
– In sports (especially ice hockey) opponents trash-talk or try to intimidate to make you lose focus and take a penalty.
– At work, a coworker criticizes or embarrass you to throw you off your game.
– In romantic relationships, one partner may try to control or dominate to feel “in charge”.
**2. Fear or Insecurity** The person reacts from their own pain or fear of being hurt.
– In relationships, someone flies off the handle over something small because they’re scared of vulnerability.
– In family or friendships, a loved one pushes your buttons because they fear losing connection.
During my divorce I was wrongfully arrested and required to attend an Anger Management class.
Almost everyone in the class had stories of how their anger led them to seriously hurt someone.
Person after person explained why their actions were justified.
Each time, the instructor would calmly reply,
“Jails are full of people who think they are innocent… who think the other person deserved it…” and so on.
That room taught me one of the most important lessons of my life:
Real power isn’t about whether anger feels justified in the moment.
It’s about refusing to let it control your life and destroy what matters most.
I’m not saying it is easy, but it is necessary to comprehend this
so that you can start to shift and practice taking ownership of your feelings.
**Practical Steps:**
– In competition situations: Don’t give them your energy.
Your negative reaction is exactly what they want. Just be better than them.
– In fear-based situations (relationships, family):
When emotions run high, remember — when two people are angry and loud, no one is listening.
Stay calm, seek to understand the other person’s intention first, and respond with love instead of reacting.
This is very difficult for me too, especially when I’m accused of hurting someone even though I had good intentions.
But it is empowering and will help you in all areas of life.
The Best example of this is Jesus while being crucified said “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

People can do awful things to you.
Jesus was being tortured to death and didn’t give in to hate and anger.
This is the ultimate demonstration of Love, power and control.
No matter what they do to you, they can’t control your emotions unless you give them that power.
Take ownership of your feelings.

If you can achieve this,
You will be more empowered to make better decisions
from a powerful position instead of a victim position
and You will be happier.
Those that do this for control purposes will not know how to handle your new power and will lose control over you.
Love yourself to take power and Own your Feelings!
Be the you God intended you to be

I Love you and God Loves you

I was told once “hate for someone is like drinking poison, and waiting for the other person to die.”
